Connected Through The Vines explores humans’ interconnection and dependence on nature and one another. The series of wooden boxes dressed with richly patinated copper panels form an undulating landscape of vines and blossoms. Figures grow from the vines, symbolizing our inherent connection with nature. On a personal level the piece references memory and ancestry. The engravings into the copper are glimmers of past experience juxtaposed with the bronze vines of the present.
